Chisholm Bookmakers Limited is an independent bookmakers currently operating fifty betting offices throughout the North-East of England and North & East Yorkshire.  The business was started in the late 1950’s by the grandfather of the current Directors.

The business presently has 240 employees with an annual turnover of £50m per year.

Within our shops we offer a full range of betting products together with unrivalled regular and special offers.

To this end we place great emphasis on training and customer service.  Our business is focused on well-trained staff who provide a high quality service to customers.  This complements our recent shop-fits, which have an up-market image, and feature vibrant shop windows and impressive internal features.

In 1997 the company won Northumberland Training and Enterprise Council’s NVQ Business Award for companies who show a strong commitment to the implementation of an effective NVQ system which reflects organisational needs.  We were also awarded a 'highly commended' recognition in the National Training Awards 1999.

The company operates an equal opportunity policy and was awarded the ‘positive about disabled people’ logo in recognition of it’s good practices and policies towards the employment of people with disabilities.

Chisholm Bookmakers are members of the Association of British Bookmakers, the leading trade organisation for bookmakers in the UK.  We take an active role in the association and our Managing Director, Howard Chisholm is currently on the Association's Council.

As part of our customer charter we are registered with the Independent Betting Arbitration Service for the adjudication of betting disputes.  This service is funded by Satellite Information Services and managed by Mirror Group, it is operated completely independently from bookmakers and their trade organisations.
